Frog Brooches/Pins

Some of you may be familiar with the ‘Everybody Loves Raymond” episode where Robert dates a girl that eats a fly. When they get to her place, it turns out that she collects frogs. Or more like she is obsessed with frogs.

Well, when I watched that episode, it dawned on me that I was pretty close to eating a fly. Ok maybe not literally, but my life was seriously being overtaken by all the frogs I had collected over the years. It was getting ridiculous. I have since streamlined my collection.

I gave away most of the stuffed frogs, sold some of the vintage ones and I put away the ones I couldn’t bear to part with. I made a promise not to buy anymore frog items just because they are adorable. I am happy to say that now our apartment only has a few frogs displayed, and when people walk in they don’t feel like they are entering the crazy zone.

But. There is always a “but” right? There is one area of my frog collection that continues to grow, and it will always keep growing: Jewelry. It’s pretty, it’s easy to store, and I actually wear it. What’s not to love?

The picture above is of some of my loved Frog Brooches/Pins. From that lot I have only worn the blue one. He lived on my coat lapel for pretty much all of last winter. The others have simply been eye candy for me. I have them displayed in my room and they always make me smile when I look at them.

p.s. remember to enter the Margarita Book Giveaway!
