On Monday, I found out that a family friend, whom I had lost touch with over the years, had cancer. It shocked me because she is only one year older than me, and has two small children. Somehow, it seemed surreal, that a young girl of 28 could be battling something so vile.
A few hours ago, I received a call letting me know that she passed away.
I am still in disbelief and can't begin to imagine the pain her family is going through. I'll be attending her wake, and I will be repeating the above c.s. lewis quote in my head, over and over again.
".... there are better things ahead, than any we leave behind"
I need those words to be true.

That is so sad! I am so sorry for your loss and of one so young!!
Lets hope she has found some peace I'm sure she will always looking over her children.

I'm so sorry for your loss :( 28 is much to young for that to happen. I will keep you and her family in my prayers!
